A Mother’s Day Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the gift of mothers — for their love that reflects Your own, for their patience, strength, and gentle guidance. Bless every mother today with peace in her heart, joy in her spirit, and renewed strength for the days ahead. For those who nurture children of their own and for those who mother through kindness, mentorship, and care — may they feel Your presence and delight in their calling. Comfort those who are missing their mothers, and wrap them in Your unfailing love.
Lord, may every mother know she is deeply valued, cherished, and seen by You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
A Mayoral Salute

At 102 years young, and a member of Vermont Avenue Baptist Church for over 80 years, Mrs. Tessie Taylor was honored at the Baptist Minister’s Wives & Widows Annual Scholarship Prayer Breakfast on April 11th. At the breakfast, she was also honored by Mayor Muriel Bowser in recognition of her unwavering dedication to missionary service, and evangelism.
